Owners of Milwaukee s The Rave bringing concerts to Washington County s Silver Lining Amphitheater

Owners of Milwaukee s The Rave bringing concerts to Washington County s Silver Lining Amphitheater The owners of the Rave in Milwaukee are getting back in the amphitheater business.  Joseph Balistreri and Leslie West ran Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy in its prime from the late 70s until 1991, and have been operating the Rave for the past 30 years.  Now through their company Eagles Entertainment Inc., Balistreri and West plan to bring several concerts and events to the Silver Lining Amphitheater at Washington County Fair Park & Conference Center, as part of a new 10-year deal. The new partnership with Eagles Entertainment Inc. is a game changer for Washington County, and is another step in fully achieving the opportunity envisioned for these amazing facilities, Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann said in a press release issued Thursday.

Sheboygan Falls couple started Diamond Vu to teach about agriculture

SHEBOYGAN FALLS - Nicole Butler and her husband, Mike, were milking a cow at the Washington County Fair when a man came up to them and said he didn t know milk was actually white when it came out of a cow.  With agriculture being a big part of their lives and careers, the Butlers were surprised by the man s comment.  That moment sparked an idea: They should buy a farm and open it to the public for people to come and learn about agriculture and life on a farm.  It took two years to find the right farm, but they eventually did and moved into their 28-acre property in the town of Sheboygan Falls at the end of 2018. The following September they launched a nonprofit, Diamond Vu.

Washington County 4-H Busy Preparing for 2021 Fair

The Washington County Fair is about three months away, and the county 4-H schedule is getting increasingly busy with planning meetings for livestock and static events. The next project meetings for dog and sheep projects are scheduled for this Saturday and April 22nd, respectively, and Washington County 4-H/Youth Coordinator Amy Green shares some other meetings that have been held in the past month, “March got busy, we had a big workshop weekend and we were doing all kinds of non-livestock workshops and then we also really kicked up our activity with livestock as well. Spring is also the time where many of those 4-H livestock projects would start and so this March we have done things with our swine department, bucket bottle department, rabbit department. They’ve all been meeting at different times in different ways to get information to kids.”
